Hi Dudley. Yes the details I have got are correct. My grandfather Joseph returned to Eire in 1931 and stayed there until he died. His DOB is May 1890. I am waiting for the death certificate from the GRO which they say should arrive by Monday.  Thanks

No shane, the info that I have submitted was all that I managed to get. I will try the ones you have suggested either by the net or by post/telephone. I am thinking maybe if the Registration District is Dublin South maybe he did die in Dublin as if outside their area it would maybe be another Registration District. I don't know. Thanks

Thanks aghadowey I had thought of that, and as he had no immediate family staying with him that might be the case.  I wonder if he had a burial through the catholic church. They might have a record of what cemetery  they buried him.  Will have  look at their churches sites. Cheers

I have found the details below about my grandfather Joseph Quirke.
 Name: Joseph Quirke
 Registration District:    Dublin South
 Event Type:  Death
Quarter and Year:    Oct - Dec 1952
Age:  62  (Estimated Birth Year:    1890)
 Volume Number:    2
 Page Number:    275

I have checked online, all the graveyards in Eire but can't find him on there.  He was RC. I also don't  know how to "VIEW" the above details online. Is it possible? I wonder if he might have been cremated but that might have gone  against his beliefs. I am not able to get over to Dublin to check other records but this information maybe enough to go on with at the moment?  Thanks

Cork / Quirke Familes
« on: Saturday 23 July 11 12:36 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for any information about the Quirke families. The only info I have at the moment is:

Mary Quirke...Born  3d. October 1878   approx.
Michael Quirke....      12th. June 1886   approx.
Denis Quirke...            .3rd. Feb 1888   approx.
Joseph Quirke....       18th. May 1890   approx
.

The father of them is John Quirke married to Ellen Sullivan in 1876.

All were born in Cork or a town nearby.

                         Thanks

No,but but my uncle who was one of his children was called Joseph John, but he wanted to be called just John. He suddenly died with a heart attack in Kilwinning over 20 years ago. I heard about a Quirks' farm somewhere near Alberta? Any relation I wonder/hope? Thanks for the help. Paul
