Inverness / Re: Frasers of Cruivend 1841

Hello, I descend from the William Fraser who was head of his household in Cruivend in 1841, through his son Alexander.   This has recently been proven by DNA.  My mother's GEDmatch is A448289 if you wanted to see if you matched with her.

Just found this thread a year late sorry, Kathryn Anne Cockerill was the mother-in-law of the brother-in-law of my aunt.  I could put zoolane in touch with living relatives in Nova Scotia if she wanted to send me a PM.

There are in fact two Ripple Courts in Kent, one near Ashford and the other near Deal. It is the one near Deal that the Gookins originated from. One building from the Gookin era still survives, but the current house was built by John Baker Sladen. I've sent you a PM.

Hello I have Frederick W L Sladen marrying Henrietta Barton and having two sons Charles and Rudolph.  Rudolph married Elizabeth Ball and had two children Richard and Valerie.  Have you got a copy of FWL Sladen's book?

Thank you!  Yes I have Richard Moat 1751-1828, and his marriage to Ann Austen had witnesses John Moat (could be either father or elder brother so not helpful) and William Cousens (again not helpful).  I have him as the son of John Moat and Sarah Unknown born 1751 in Nonington but have no proof....

Any light you can shed would be greatly appreciated....

Thanks

Matthew

A friend has recently obtained for me a copy of this marriage certificate and on this Sarah Moat's husband's name looks more like Thomas KIDORN to me?

Also, can I ask, do you know anything about the parentage of her father Richard Moat?  From a process of elimination I suspect that he was my 1st cousin 6x removed, but I have no proof of this.

Thanks in advance

Hampshire & Isle of Wight / Re: Street families of Ringwood
« on: Sunday 24 February 13 12:07 GMT (UK)  »
Good afternoon I am very interested in this thread as my maternal grandmother was a Street from Ringwood.

I think she was descended from a John Street (1821-1899) who married an "Ann" and had eight children (George b1844, Charles b1847, Henry b1851, Jane b1855, Alfred b1857, Eliza b1860, William b1863 and Emily b1865).

Henry Street (1851-1920) was my great great grandfather and he married Jane Tarrant and had ten children (Winifred b1871, Henry b1872, Rosaline b1874, Herbert b1877, Frederick b1879, Bessie b1882, Thomas b1883, Edith b1886, Louise b1888 and Ernest b1890)

Frederick Street (1879-1969) was the great grandfather and he married Beatrice Welch and had seven children (Frederick b1899, Lilian b1901, William b1903, Doris b1907, Albert b1913, Verdun b1916 and Gwen b1918)

It would be great to have independent confirmation of these lines.

It would also be great to make contact with other Street descendants.

Thanks in advance!
