Hi Leofric
Its been a while since I've done any work on this side of the family tree, and I think I got it wrong saying that his mothers name was on his 1914 enlistment papers, I must have been looking at the earlier enlistment papers. Having visited the records office at Kew the enlistment papers were destroyed in the last war.
What I have found is that he was born in Midleton, again there are no records for his birth but his brother George's mother is listed as Mary Curtin and brother William as Maria Burchill. With their father as John

Sorry about that, brains not fully in gear yet.

Hawthorn Stewart and family sailed out of London on the Osterley on the 23 May 1913 and settled in Victoria (Kyabram area). He died around 1929.

Hi the one on the 1911 UK census is from a different family.  Their graet Uncle emigrated to Australia in 1913 and family folklore suggest they to emigrated but not sure were.

Hi Neil
Many thanks fot your info.
The reason we are on the Australia board is that their great uncle emigrated there in 1913. Not sure if they followed.

Hi Nookie
Many thanks for you info. Not sure what estate papers refer to unless it means property, and was Robert in jail. Also how can we find out their ages.

One of their great uncles emigrated to Australia and family folklore suggests South Africa while others say North America. That's why we have gone for these five. Although we have no firm evidence on were they emigrated to.

Hi
I am looking for the following Stewart's from Frizington, Cumbria, England. Joseph William Stewart b 1888, Matthew Stewart b 1886 and Robert Stewart b 1884. They all appeared in the 1901 census but no trace of them after this apart from Robert who married in 1908 and no record of him from this date.
