Midlothian / Re: Finding Peter McLaren
« on: Wednesday 04 August 10 11:15 BST (UK)  »
Hi Thinlizy,

Given Peter McLaren lost two wifes, both at 27 years old and lived to 72,  it is feasible that he fathered Christina McLaren after both previous marriages.

I have a copy of the marriage certificate for Christina McLaren and Andrew Greenfield on April 28 1854. If her age was say 25, she would have been born 21 years before Peter McLaren died in 1850.

I also have a copy of the Birth Certificate for the birth of a daughter Isabella to Andrew and Christina on 30 October 1854, from whom I am descended on my paternal grandmother's side.

Any chance you could copy the Inventory to l(*) ?

Hope this helps,

Hi Caraid,

Thanks for checking this for me. Saved me a lot of time at the churchyards. On with the hunt!

Hi Sharkman

Sorry, none of those names mentioned in the MI book, doesn't mean they are not buried there, just no Headstones. May be that the Headstone was illegible at time of survey, or there never was a Headstone.

Happy Hunting anyway

Hi Caraid,

Found your correspondence re Tranent Cemetery. I am looking for information on Andersons who are buried in Tranent. I am trying to trace information on the Anderson family who lived at 19 Church Street in Tranent at the beginning if the 20th century.

Any help appreciated,

Hi Fiona g
