I have information regarding litigation in Dublin c.1814/15.  Can someone tell me where I should be searching for evidence - and am I likely to find anything.
Many thanks.

It is some years since I used this site, but do have information on the DUNN/HUNTER families.
My gt-gt-grandfather was James Henry HUNTER, Royal Navy lieutenant and son of William HUNTER and Henrietta/Hester Dunn; grandson of Arthur Dunn (d.1814).  I have a lot of information about him; also his brother William, RN lieutenant.

Arthur Dunne, a barrister, Dublin and first captain of Attorneys Cavalry and Crown Solicitor for Connaught 1794-1814.
I wonder if this name rings any bells?
I'd love to hear from someone with a connection - thanks.

Thank you, Shane. I wonder if all the Church of Ireland details are on the site you've given me?

It's a bit of a mystery.  On his naval papers it gives details of his baptism and this is authorised by two church officials.  However, as you say, there is no evidence of a baptism, and the two officials are non-existent.  I can only assume that he lied to the Naval Board.  A brother and sister were baptised at St Audeon's, so perhaps I should be looking there.

Thanks again for your response.

Hello - I wonder if this is the right place for my query.  I am based in London and am trying to find the birth of an ancestor in the Church of Ireland.  Details are:
James Henry HUNTER
Father: William
Mother: Henrietta/Hester Dunn(e)
supposedly baptised St Mary's Dublin (CoI) approx 1790-1795
Is there anyone who would be prepared to do a look-up for me?  Is this appropriate?
I haven't been able to find anything on Ancestry or Family Search and I would be extremely grateful if someone could help me, please.
I will keep my fingers crossed.
Thanks.  :)
