Hi,
Thanks for e-mail of 4.4.04.  The info. I have on Samuel Candler is as follows:-
In 1793 William Sadler (c. 1768) married Susan Butcher in the village of Somerton, Suffolk. It was witnessed by Samuel Candler presumably of the Somerton/Hartest area. They had three children christened, Samuel in 1793 ( with Susan's maiden name of Butcher recorded), Susan in 1795 and John in 1801 with no mother's maiden name recorded.  In 1802, 1804 and 1808 a William and Susan Sadler had three children christened in the village, but in these cases the Susan's maiden name is shown as Candler - possible related to the 1793 marriage witness.
I do not know if this is another William and Susan Sadler of Somerton or whether William remarried a second Susan.  I have found no evidence yet of a second William and Susan family, so I am assuming a re-marriage.
Rather confused, but I hope this may be of some interest to you.
Regards,
David.

Hi Janette,
The only Essex connections I have at the moment are Gt Horkesley and Lt Horkesley, Prior to 1700 and Bures St Mary in late 1800s'. If I find anything of possible interest I will let you know.
Regards,
David Sadler.

Hi, I have info on William Sadler marrying Susan Candler around 1800, but in Somerton, Suffolk.  Could there be a connection here?
Regards,
Sadler
