Hi Schonerhirt. Really nice to hear from you and about your connection to the copeland family. I would like to get in touch with you, although I think you will probably be able to help me more than I can help you with your search. Will forward an email. Gabby

This is a surprise! My grand uncle Wm Copeland was married to Annie belle. They had a daughter Norah born in Cork. I think she may have become a botanist or horticulturalist in around 1920. Wm's first wife was Jane. Was she also a Hobkirk? Do you know what happened to Norah? Did William have a connection with Rufford? I would appreciate any such information. Many thanks.

The Common Room / sculpture. do you know it?
« on: Wednesday 09 February 11 17:14 GMT (UK)  »
Has anyone ever seen this sculpture of the Last Supper?  It looks like a photo and has been in my family since the late 1800s. My grandfather learnt his craft as a sculptor in Glasgow, I believe, so it could have some connection with that. Any ideas? Darian

Searching the LDS marriages 1837-1900 i notice the same names occurring continuously as witnesses. I don't know the area and wonder was the town a small nucleus of families. I was looking for the name thomas hobkirk and did find one mentioned a couple of times. also a george, janet and margaret jane. was there an annie bell? Has the town changed much over the last century? darian

would anyone know if records exist for the national school of foynes co limerick for the years around 1890 to 1925? my father and cousins went to school there and they would help me to date a possible second marriage.
