The Common Room / Re: The Sad Passing of PeterBennett (M)

I was very sad to hear the sad news of Peter. He was a great help to me when I first started my research. His advice and lookups proved central to my early searches. My thoughts are with all those close to him.

Lancashire Lookup Requests / Re: Robert Lewis Evans Liverpool 1841 & 1851 Please

Hi Suz,

Thanks very much, that's fantastic.

More gems here and more things for me to investigate.

I have not found an extracted marriage record for Lucy & Robert but there is a submitted record indicating that Lucy's surname is Williams, so the presence of a Williams here is interesting. As for Gwen and John!  brother and sister to Robert Snr. perhaps?

Anyway thanks one more for you help in sorting this for me.

Cheers Rob

Hi Suz,

Thanks for taking the time to look.

Your 1851 lookup has already provided me with a huge bonus (Robert Snr approx age & another Daughter), so if  you do find them in 1841 all well and good.

Once again thanks so much.

Cheers Rob

Hi,

Can SKS please lookup Robert Lewis Evans in the 1841 & 1851 Census please.

There should be Robert Lewis Evans snr (DOB unknown)
Lucy Evans b. abt 1802 Denbighshire
Robert Lewis Evans Jnr b. abt  1835 Liverpool
Mary Evans b. abt. 1843 Liverpool.

There may be others. In 1861 Lucy was living in West Derby, she was head but I don't know if she was widowed;  no sign of Robert Snr

Bedfordshire Completed Look ups / Re: Samuel Laughton Renhold 1841 Please

Hi David,

What a useful piece of work.

I had come across the name Hopkins previously; but only in a LDS submission, so to have such detail makes life so much easier.

The references to Mr Howard and Mr Whitbread refer of course to John Howard, the Prison reformer and Samuel Whitbread the MP and Social reformer both of which lived in Cardington. The very house in which I live was formally the Cardington Workhouse (still feels like it sometimes). It was built in 1757 and was paid for by John Howard, Ive Whitbread and Samuel Whitbread Snr. (Father of Sam Whitbread MP).

The level of detail in the 1782 census, makes obtaining a copy a must.

Thanks again for all your help.

Cheers Rob

Hi David,

Thanks for that, I would like the details from 1782 Census please.

Up to now I have his parents as Thomas & Elizabeth (from IGI) is this correct?

Where did you get the Cardington census from, it's the sort of thing I would like to browse, do you know if any of the Wootton family can be found there? I know that they farmed in Cardington at a later date, any sigh of them in 1782?

Thanks once more for all you have given me so far.

Cheers Rob
