Can anyone tell me about when they think this photo was taken?  It was in England but that is all I know.  So maybe by the style of clothing. The names on the photo may not be correct.

Lincolnshire / George Proudley
« on: Wednesday 10 April 13 16:14 BST (UK)  »
Working on family of George Proudley born abt 1802 in Lincolnshire.  Have seen birth dates of 5-7-1802 and 12-25-1801.  Came to America in 1830.  Unable to locate parents or siblings of George.  He did marry in US (Pennsylvania) and had children name:  Hannah and George. Not sure if these are family names (could be a hint for parents or grandparents).
How can I locate who his parents were??
Thanks for any help anyone can give.

Armed Forces / First Anglo-Boer War
« on: Thursday 06 January 11 17:37 GMT (UK)  »
I am interested in finding a listing of those who served in the first Anglo-Boer War or the Transvaal War, which was fought from 16 December 1880 until 23 March 1881.
My Gr Gr Grandfather, Arthur Albert Harold, born in 1858, had told family that he served in the Boar War and worked at the Diamond Mines.  But I can not find any record of him in the military. Nor can I locate him in the 1881 British census.  He is in the 1871 in Wales going to school.  Then by 1884 he is in the USA for a few years.  His father was with the 16th Lancer and drew pension.
Any idea of how to locate those that fought in the first Boer War 1880- 1881?
Thank you
Shirley

Perthshire / Poorhouse in Perth Records
« on: Wednesday 08 December 10 23:09 GMT (UK)  »
I am researching my 3 great grandfather and he died at the Poorhouse in Perth on New Years Eve in 1905.  Are there any personal records that I would be able to locate with the Poorhouse from that time period?  I am not sure what kind of records they would have as well as I am searching burial records.
Any help would be appreciated.
