Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Re: Photographic Studios approx 1888

Many thanks for the further information Pels. I am looking into the studio connection because my grandfather is mentioned in the Derby Mercury in which a prisoner represented himself as the manager of Abraham Booth  studio of Oxford Street. My grandfather - Solomon Ward - was a shopkeeper - at South Normantion. It was the winter assizes 1888. Unfortunately I have been unable to get a copy of the newspaper report. Just another part of the jigsaw when you start probing down the line. Regards Ron Ward alias Fred Holling''its another long story. ;D ;D ;D

In relation to family research I am trying to establish if there was an Abraham Booth of Oxford Street Studio around about 1888. Not sure if this is the right place to ask.

Kincardineshire / cottage at Balhagarty
« on: Sunday 19 February 12 09:32 GMT (UK)  »
My daughter recently moved to the Eastmost Cottage Balhagarty, apparently built 1851 to 1861. We are trying to find details of families who may have occupied the cottage.

The photo was taken prior to 1955 when I worked in the Information Room at the old County Police HQ. Det.Inspector Kettleborough was a great friend of the Lincoln City football manager Bill Anderson. The HQ  cricket team played on a ground to the east of the City, I believe somewhere along the Wragby Road.  The trophy may be the Police inter-divisional trophy.  549 Ron Ward

Hi Dee, many thanks for the guidance on greetings from Her Majesty, I am sure they will be useful to many old stagers. We have just got to stagger on for another five to qualify for the next.  Someone has posted that they keep getting better and better and they are certainly right. We are enjoying them all...the restorations and combinations  - you have certainly done us proud. To  Carol and Paulatoo - a big WOW and a gigantic thank-you.
Eternally grateful, Win and Ron   ;D    ;D    ;D    ;D

PS I first came across this site when researching my wife's Grandfather's WW1 service and I used his name to log-in just in case it threw up some info. Whilst he did not die until 1920 the gassing did for him in the end.
I did not want you to think I had an identity problem. Merry Merry Xmas,Ron
