Hi I was just reading your look ups about Mauris Thomas Jr When Mauris Jr sold  his property MORIALTA (Aboriginal for Waterfall) to  Mr William John Carrol, grazier of Orange in 1885 for $1050. Mauris took the family to Cudal where he owned a General store.
He died there  on the 23 Dec 1889 at the age of 58 years ,his occupation was recorded as storekeeper .a mundane occupation after what he and his little family had been through
Susannah's epitaph on the headstone was apt

               Light after darkness,gain after loss
Strength after weakness, crown after cross
                  Sweet after bitter,hope after fears
Home after wandering, praise after tears

Mauris had built five smelting works, a truly great pioneering effort in establishing copper mining as a productive Australian i industry
