Hi,I posted this before now I have studied the same family in the 1901 Census I think it is James’s Family.
1901 Census.
The older James is no longer there if it is him he would be married ,his brother John age 24. 2 years   younger  Bricklayers labourer, maybe James changed from being a Tanner to being like his brother John as that is what he is doing in the 1901 Census. as John senior and James senior were  brothers maybe James senior was James Father. As yet not found his death.

John Leach Head age 50. Occupation Tanner. Same as 1891 Born Mayo Co. Ireland
Mary Leach age 51.  No occupation.                                   Born Edinburgh Scotland.
John Leach age 24..” Occupation Bricklayers Labourer” Born Yorkshire.
William Leach. Age 22. Occupation  Cannot read the writing.
Margaret Leach. Age 15. Occupation Tailoring. .         Born  Leeds.  Ann no longer there
Catherine Leach Age 12.    “.              “
They are living in George Street. Central Leeds.

Margaret and Catherine names run through Alec Leaches family

I found the William and Charlotte Leeck which also could be a mis spelling.I am enclosing what I found

Hello,I. Am also researching James Leach for my Niece Her Mother was Diane Leach her Father Alec Georges brother. I also traced back to 1901,traced Margaret further back a mystery as to why they changed their name from Mathieson to Walker as they are the same family. I keep thinking I have found her Great Great Grandfather James but find they are still living in 1901 when I come forward which is no good as they are supposed to be deceased. Have you had any further luck? One I thought was on the 1871 census James leach born 1842 had married Eliza Sutcliffe 1869,I think it is his death  1899 but I do not see a son James in the 1881 Census :-[
