why not send for death certs?....my ancester burried 2 children on the same day in 1880's,  I sent for certs and they died of measles

hi, and thanks for replying, another forum told me about the desertion, I now want to see if he re-enlisted.

His name was Henry Mcleod Irvine born liverpool 1886

He enlisted in the Navy in 1904 and was thrown out in 1908 for jumping ship a few times, (I downloaded this from national archives)

In 1915 he joined the Inniskillin Fusiliers under the name Henry Irving, (his brother had joined them first), I was told by another forum he deserted 2 months later and never went to war.

BTW...I have ancestry but really dont understand the military information

My problem is his family say served abroad in the cavalry in WW1, and there was a picture of him in uniform on a horse, they are searching for this picture, it has not been seen for years, I know if I had this you could tell me the regiment..

I dont know how to move forward with the cavalry records, as he would have to change his name again I would think, but am sure it would have been a close match to his real name..

I really need your help guys
