Hi Keyboard,  I know a wealth of info on her life - it is the generation before I am struggling with.

It is her birth and parents I am looking for:

All I know is her father was Thomas and mother Elizabeth - then I hit a dead end as I cannot find MaryAnn/Polly birth.

I have no idea where she was born as her parents travelled and did not settle in Deptford until the 1880/1890. Her death cert states born 1875 but we cannot confirm this. Family stories states she could have been as old as 106 when she died, however a local news report would have it at nearer 100.

I hope this clears things up. Thanks again for your help.

Hello All,

I am looking for info on Mary Ann Sibthorpe Nee Loveridge formerly Banks.

I cannot find a record of her birth, so I am unable to trace the line back further.

I know she was born 19 April I believe the year was 1875 (but we can't confirm that)
she died 15 Feb 1976 in Deptford.

she married Benjamin Banks 1897
she married William Sibthorpe on 24 Dec 1918

We know her fathers name was Thomas Loveridge and believe her mother was Elizabeth ??

Any info would be gratefully rec'd. I have run out of leads, I have lots of theoreticals but no solid confirmation, to help further my long search.

Regards,

Jo

I've already relayed this to Littleacorns but thought I should put it on here as well.

Popped to the cemetery today and although I could find the area in which the plot would be, it seemed to be a grass void with a few small fallen headstones, it looked to me as if there had been movement in the ground causing the stones to fall, it is likely there are lots of unmarked graves in the area now.

Sadly many of the stones there were unreadable.

Does anyone know if there would be records of who was buried there and how we would find out.

Regards

Hi,

Thanks for yr reply, yes I've got a couple of pics and my printer is now working so I'll be able to scan them and email them over to you.

As I said in my email popped to Grove park cem, sadly if there ever was a headstone there doesn't seem to be one now.

I'll have to check my records re Emily she would be my Mary Anns cousin.
