Hi, I live in Burnopfield and it is very close to Tanfield. I notice that you have mentioned FRIARSIDE. There is a Friarside and High Friarside on the outskirts of Burnopfield. This  info may be of use to you.

Hello Boo,

I came across your request as I was looking through some threads for Burnopfield . I attend St James church, Burnopfield and I have looked up the details in our church register today for you.

Name       Mary Elizabeth Gilliland
Abode       Hobson Colliery
Date         Buried July 16th 1905
Age           34 yrs

The other comment is   B.Dennison. not according to the rites of Church of England.
I wonder if he was the Methodist Minister because remember in the death notice it did say service at chapel at 3. I remember that there was a chapel at the Hobson but of course they did not have a graveyard there. Burnopfield is very close to Hobson.
Incidently while I was looking this up one person said that he went to school with a Gilliland and somebody else knows of a Gilliland who will be in his 60's and live in nearby Lanchester!
Hope this helps.

Hi Claire,

I am descended from  William then his son George then from his son Edward (he was brother of your Sarah!). Edward married Isabella and they had several children including my grandmother Ada Mary.

So we are distant relatives.

Hi Claire, I am new to this today and I am researching the Cruddas family tree and I think that we may be talking about the same family. I have gone back to George Cruddas b.1835 and his father who was William b.1815.

Have you got anything for William b.1815?????

Hope you can help.
Regards, D
