London and Middlesex / Crossley Orphans
« on: Thursday 04 November 10 16:06 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Everyone,
I am trying to connect to anyone who may be able to identify with Three Crossley Children.
They are George Crossley born around 1885 place unknown, Robert Crossley birth details unknown, and Pauline Crossley birth unknown. They came from a circus family and where put in an Unknown London
Orphanage where Pauline died. Their parents circus act was called The LeRoys I think they were trapeze artists who ended up having a fatal accident hence the children being put in an orphanage.

George went on to join the merchant navy and then joined the New Zealand Expeditionary Force around 1914, He married a Mary Dacey in 1917 at Cardiff, He then emigrated to NewZealand and brought up a family there. However he never managed to locate his brother Robert after leaving the Orphanage.

George's family wan't to know  if Robert survived and had children.

There are no Birth records for any of the three children, nor do they appear in any Census records for 1891.

The only record that I have seen is the marriage certificate for George Crossley and Mary Dacey which took place 13th October 1917 in Cardiff.

I would be gratefull for any information which may help in tracing Robert or finding out which orphanage they were in.

Thanks

England / Re: Greenwich Electoral Roll Lookup
« on: Monday 17 April 06 23:13 BST (UK)  »
Hi Little Nell
Yes I have been down the Census route. Francis and family were in Scotland at the time of the 1901 Census. The son I am trying to find out about was not born till well after the Census. He was probably born in Stirling around 1907. Stirling was where the other children were born before they moved to England sometime after 1909.

thanks for your thoughts anyway,

England / Greenwich Electoral Roll Lookup
« on: Monday 17 April 06 16:50 BST (UK)  »
I had a relative by the name of Francis Shearer Mcpherson. Before his death in 1934 he lived at 17 Liskeard Gardens, Charlton, Greenwich. London County.

On his death certificate his son was the informant. This son is recorded as being M. A. Mcpherson and was living at home with Francis. I need to know what the sons first two names are.

Does anyone have access to Electoral Rolls/Poll Books around 1930 -1934. If so is it possible to look up the occupants of the above address. Hopefully M.A. Mcpherson should be there with his full name recorded.

I can't think of any other way to find out his details. I would be really grateful  if any one can help

One Name Studies: H to M / Horton Family Tree
« on: Tuesday 11 April 06 16:06 BST (UK)  »
Hello to all Hortons.
I have been researching my family tree for 2 years now and offer the results to other Horton families to see if they can make any connections. This way I hope to continually add to it. It is of most interest to Hortons originating or living in the UK. Please have a look and click on the link Below.

Essex / Sidney Herbert Sugden and Maggie Johann Mcpherson
« on: Sunday 19 March 06 20:48 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for information about the following people. Sidney Herbert Sugden Married Maggie Johann Mcpherson in West Ham, Essex in June 1907. Maggie was born in Perth Scotland on 27th Sept. 1882.
Maggie and Sidney had at least one son that I know about, probably more. His name was Ronald I.C. Sugden and was born March quarter 1914 in Rochford, Essex.
If anyone can provide me with more information about this family I would be very grateful.

I look forward in anticipation of some fruitful replies.

Perthshire / Re: Wellshill Cemetery
« on: Saturday 07 January 06 15:46 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Trish
The Wellshill Cemetery index and burial registers are in the record office at the A.K. Bell Library in Perth. The cemetery and all its graves are still in Perth it's quite a big cemetery and is still in use.
Also in the library is a book with all the grave memorial inscriptions compiled I think in 1987. Each Perth Cemetery has its own section and index so it's easy to search.

The library can do a search fro you for a small fee. You need to contact them to find out how much. I think they have a website.

Best of luck

Scotland / M(a)cphersons from Perth and Liverpool
« on: Sunday 01 January 06 16:22 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Everybody
I have now opened a website which contains a family tree of M(a)cphersons from Perth, Scotland who then mostly migrated to England, Liverpool being one of the most popular areas.
They had a shipyard in Perth and the reason for moving was the advent of the new metal ships. They closed the Perth shipyard,as wooden boats no longer provided much needed employment, then moved to the Liverpool dock area where they worked as Shipwrights.
I am particularly intertested to see if anyone can connect to Peter McLean McPherson who was born in Perth. He seems to have vanished from all records, possibly emigrated to the USA. His wife was Eleanor King.
If anyone has a genuine interest I would be glad to hear from them.
The website link is http://www.c0linmac.e7even/050/dynamic/mactree.htm

A Happy new 2006 to all,

Colin

Perthshire / McPhersons of Perth and Liverpool
« on: Sunday 04 December 05 18:43 GMT (UK)  »
Hello Everybody
I have a website where I host the family tree of the McPhersons/macphersons of Perth and Liverpool. Please feel free to browse and see if you are related or can supply any information which will enable me to expand it. I would love to hear from interested people.

www.c0linmac.e7even.com/050/dynamic/mactree.htm

I am particularly interested if any one has information as to what happened to Peter McLean McPherson. Also if anyone can verify where his father John McPherson was born, the Perth 1841 Census only shows he was not born in Perthshire. The family rumour says he came from Port Glasgow.    :)
