My thanks to everyone for all of the information posted Re my query Curry/Currie.
I can now rule out Curry.
There were a Currie family who came to Australia on the ARABIAN into Victoria in april 1858,
could someone please tell me where it sailed from?
Regards
Gordon

I have an interest in this family to rule in or out. my grandfather john edward currie(maybe mispelt) was the  son of a john  currie who died aged 53 in 1903 at balmain NSW.I know the spelling is different
but i can find no john currie being born in Australia around 1850 so i tried curry.
the only one to turn up is the son of john and margaret, edward john aged 1 on the oriental into NSW 1850.
any help with this family would be most welcomed.
