Hi Jean and Susan

Sorry I've been away from my computer for a while and so have only just picked up the messages that you sent.  Many thanks for your help and advice - will take you up on your advice.

Cheshire Completed Lookup Requests / MIs St Marys Astbury
« on: Thursday 14 December 06 15:33 GMT (UK)  »
Does anyone have a copy of the MIs for St Marys?

If so, I'd be really grateful for a lookup for a Robert Buckley.  He married in 1776 so I estimate his birthdate to be about 1750.  His wife was called Sabra and she was born in 1756.  Hopefully the two will be together and hopefully this is enough information. (Other family is buried there).

Many thanks

Barbara

Dear AK

Many thanks once again for looking at these registers - it's really good of you.

There are really so many possibilities of likely churches even just in the neighbourhood that I will obviously have to do a lot more research on.  (Unless of course any other kind soul has any suggestions - all welcome!)

This is very kind of you and much appreciated, even if it means I have to rule out St Marys :(

Is there any kind soul out there who can help me break down a brickwall please?

I'm looking for the baptism of Robert Buckley who was born c 1755 probably at St Marys Astbury and/or St Peters.  He married a Sabra Albiston at St Marys in 1776.  She was christened at St Peters Congleton in 1756 and his 3 known sons Oliver  (1781) Robert (1783) and Henry (my 4 x grt grandfather - 1788) were christened variously at St Peters and St Marys.

From the IGI, it seems there are a lot of Buckleys being baptised, married or buried in the Congleton area both before and after this date but I can't connect them to Robert, without knowing his parents' names and I can't find him on the IGI.

Many thanks and fingers crossed

You're right - I am looking at only one family but only because I haven't yet  found  the connections with all the other Petts that are tantalisingly around the area.

You'd think with so many that I'd be able to find a marriage of Joseph Petts to a Mary  in the area at the beginning of the nineteenth century and a birth of the same Joseph around 1780 and then perhaps a link to parents and siblings.  But nothing so far! I'm having to do this research remotely, as I live in Spain and can't visit the record offices or churches.

Many thanks for your suggestions - one day all the pieces will fit!

Many thanks Bryant.

Regrettably I don't think either are "mine", (too late or wrong name), although it is interesting that there are other Petts around the area - it'd be lovely to make a connection.

I suppose the Joseph Petts that you found on the 1841 could be the father of the Joseph who married Mary .....?  Epping's not too far away is it?
