Yes I have looked at the deaths from 1855 onwards but nothing looked suitable nor did the old parish registers pre 1855 which I checked with the local registar. Just wondered if there is MI's available, have checked the cathedral ones & neither him or his wife are buried there, but I believe there is more than one graveyard in Dunblane?

I wonder if someone could be so kind to look up & see if they can find parents for Alexander Chalmers Oswald born 1886 - 1890 in the overseas register of british subjects or a Charles George Oswald born 1888 in the same register.
Kind Regards

Thankyou very much Sandra for all this research, but it has confirmed that this is not the same family that I had hoped it was. Mine is a Margaret Oswald  born scotland 1853 (nee king) with daughter Helen (registered as Mary) born scotland 1889. I have found them in the 1901 & 1911 scottish censuses but not in the 1891 one.
Thanks

Thankyou to you both. I have found a John Oswald in the 1891 canadian census(Quebec) with Margaret (wife) & Hellen (daughter). Both adults were scottish & I was trying to find where this John Oswald was born, hence was looking at the passenger lists to see when they came over . But they are not there in 1901 canadian census.
Thanks

Could someone kindly check to see what info there is about a John Oswald departing Glasgow in 1899 bound  for the USA (New York) ?
Also does anyone know how to check marriage records in Canada for the said John Oswald marrying a Margaret King?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks ev, I had heard about them destroying the censuses before 1901 but wondered if there was another way to check births such as charles born in 1888 or if any districts kept any records ?
Thanks

I did the search for the Mary Oswald , but its not her, its a Mary Mcfarlane Oswald , unfortunately!
Is there anyway to check the irish 1891 census for her since her brother Charles Oswald in the 1901 census was stated as born Conway Island - or I wondered is it Conway, Ireland?
Thanks
