Celia,
Many thanks for your speedy reply. When I mentioned Landican I was referring to the records office there. I would be extremely grateful if you could send me details of the location of the aforementioned grave, when you are able, so that I can then photograph it (to send to a relative in Canada).
Just for information the occupant ( ???) of the grave - Mary Reid is my  ???great x3 grandparent, who is in turn the  great grandaughter of Peter Baker (1732 -1796), Shipbuilder, Merchant and Lord mayor of Liverpool. It doesn't half get complicated !!

Many thanks and appreciation,
Mike

Hello Celia,
I am new to this bug they call geneology. I have well documented family tree back to 1732 on my side and 1718 on my wife's side (all done by someone else so now it is our turn). Whilst browsing I came across your page and by sheer coincidence, information helping me. In February 05 Someone had sent you an inscription re: Merchant Navy memorials. Landican have been unable to locate the particular grave, as yet, so a visit to Birkenhead library seems on the cards. I am wondering if you keep records of locations? The inscription reads:

MARY REID 3rd. daughter of Capt. Charles Phillips, Aberdeen. Died 31st. March 1909 aged66
ALICK M. RICHIE only son of Capt. James Richie, Glasgow. Died 29th. August 1908 age 42
JAMES RICHIE Father of the above Died at sea 20th. June 1869 aged 33
ANNIE HENDERSON RICHIE Widow of CApt. James Richie and youngest dau. of Capt. Charles Phillips Died 10th.July 1913 aged 68 years

Any information or guidance you can give would be gratefully appreciated,
Yours sincerely,
Mike Dunne (Pensby)
