Hi Sue, Much appreciated. You deserve another star.

If Francis & maybe Frances too came from Beccles, then they may just have lived in Framlingham for a few years before moving on to Harwich, which was then starting to prosper due to the shipbuilding and ferry trade. This would explain the absence of Francis from the Framlingham records.

Will have a closer look at the Beccles records.
Cheers  Peter

Hello Geoffrey et al.

There are numerous references to the Pulham family of Framlington in The history, topography, and antiquities of Framlingham and Saxsted, in the County of Suffolk (1834), which is easily searched on Google Books.

I have been researching my Harwich Pulham ancestors for years, and have, I think, found the link to the Framlington family. I have documentary evidence back to the death in 1706 of my Gx7 grandfather Francis Pulham, baker, of Harwich, Essex, but his birth doesn't appear in the PR.

The first Pulhams to appear in the Harwich PR are Robert, son of Francis Pulham and Frances his wife, baptised on 19 July 1649 at St Nicholas Church, Harwich and Henry, son of Francis and Frances, buried there on 26 October 1651. Francis was buried at St Nicholas Church on 13 June 1654. Three months later another son, Benjamin, was baptised. It is possible that Francis and Frances Pulham of Framlingham in central Suffolk, who from 1639 registered the births of three children in Framlingham, including sons Francis on 16 February 1641 and Henrie on 27 July 1644, moved to Harwich at some point between 1644 and 1649.

Any assistance with this link would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers  Peter

Hi taylorwallace, I have been researching the Arran Bannatynes for some years. You are probably not all that intertested in Catherine Bannatyne's ancestry, but, if you are, let me know. Or, if you've been able to trace her father James' ancestry back beyond Peter Bannatyne & Catherine Shaw, I'd be very interested. Cheers  Peter
