Thank you so much for these lovely restorations. I must apologise for being so slow to respond, I am still recovering from a bad dose of Covid. Will it ever go away!

My sincere Best Wishes for a Very Happy Christmas
Lesley  :)

This is my long lost grandfather. My mother never knew him. I would be forever grateful if a kind person could restore this well loved photo. Lesley

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Dating please for 2 young men

I would be grateful for a date for these two young men. I was told it was father & son, but looks more like brothers to me. A date would help to fix the generation.
Thank you
Lesley

Hi,
The photo is of William George Beaumont, licensee of the Shades Tavern, The Old Wharf, Hobart, Tasmania. The photographer is most probably Stephen Spurling snr. B 1821. His son Stephen was in Launceston by this time.

Many thanks Steve,
A great job with a rather unpromising photo.

Thank you Steve,
The extra colour looks good, but was this an educated guess for the regalia colours? Is it too much to ask for a light sepia version,
I would be most grateful

Thank you China,
That does confirm my thoughts. Unfortunately this is a 3rd hand print, so I doubt I would be able to get a better one.
Many thanks Lesley
