Mike,
The only Elliott on my tree is Mary Ann Elliott born Alconbury Huntingdonshire 1851. She married Jonathan Bell born 1851. Her Father was William born 1816 - Mother Mary born 1829. No record of a daughter Jane. So connection to your Elliott branch unknown.

Regards - nn.

Adam - This is in response to your suggestion I post my 'Bells of Wolsingham' query in this section.

You can apparently provide inscription information directly from the gravestone - this is very handy for me because my wife Norah and I live in Mandurah Western Australia (80Km south of Perth) so a bit far to travel.

The info I have so far........

Thomas Bell born 1811 in Wolsingham. He married Mary Hodgson born 1820 in Stanhope Durham. They had several children including Jonathan Bell born about 1857. Jonathan Bell married Mary Ann Elliott born in 1851 in Warboys. They in turn had several children one of which was Jonathan Ralph Bell (my Grandfather) born in 1891 in Edmonton Hertfordshire. JR Bell married my grandmother Dorothy Clough, a decendant of the Cloughs of Cleckheaton Yorkshire. It looks like the Bells and the Cloughs moved from their respective parts of northern England around 1870 to Hertfordshire and the rest is history so to speak.

Sincere thanks for any info provided - nn.

Durham / The 'Bell's' of Wolsingham
« on: Thursday 28 January 10 09:17 GMT (UK)  »
I am researching the Bell family I am related to. I have traced back to Thomas Bell born in 1811 in Wolsingham.
I am trying to put together a clearer picture of their lives in Wolsingham including dates of death and where they are buried. Can anyone out there help me please?
