I am looking for information on a John Sloan from Antrim born in 1697. Would anyone here know where I could begin to search for information this old in Antrim/ the whole of Ireland? Had to have migrated to the US pre-1729. Are records this old still in existence, and are they still searchable?

This is great. the name I am looking for was Ellen McMillan, McMullan or similar and John Sloan married in 1844 in Antrim.  Could this be William John? Certainly it is a name carried on into further generations. It also sits well with the time of other members of the family emigrating from the great happenings of Ireland at the time. I will investigate further and see what I can find.  I will let you know if there is a link.

I am looking for information on John Sloan from Antrim born 1697, migrated to the US before 1729. If you can direct me to any help or suggest a source for this information in Antrim, I would greatly appreciate it. I am a novice in tracking my family, but have tracked 10 generations back to this John Sloan (i realize, common name) and would like to know about the name in Ireland.
