Kilkenny / South Kilkenny Cononers Reports
« on: Friday 05 July 13 12:50 BST (UK)  »
 ???
Hi all,
I wonder does anyone know if the reports from the South Kilkenny Coroners Court are available.

I have a relative, Patrick J Roche, who died as a result of accidental drowning on 17th July 1915.  The South Kilkenny Coroner, Mr Walsh, held the inquest on the same day.
The death cert does not have any details, I wonder is it possible to obtain the actual report.

Any advise would be brilliant.

Thanks, Moinear

I hope someone can help me.  I have a gggg uncle who appears in the 1900 census in Fort Bragg Mendocino County, CA.  At this stage he is a 52 year old Divorcee.  I would love to find a marriage or divorce record.

Thanks Eamonn,

I am looking from my relatives who are definately buried in Drumcannon because I found the death notice in the paper from 1917.
The family name is Quan or Quann.  In the Griffith Valuation in 1850 John Quan is listed on a 40 acre holding in Drumcannon but were gone by 1901 census.
Do you know your farming neighbours there in Drumcannon?  If you do, could you enquire from the older generation did they ever hear of Quans.  I'd love to know exactly where they lived & any information at all.

Thanks & Regards,
Mags

Patrick O'Brien died in January 1917 and was buried in the Roman Catholic cemetery in Wentworth Falls NSW.  I have failed to find a transcript of the headstone inscription.  Does anyone know where I could look?

I have found out a bit more about my relation Patrick O'Brien.
On his death cert it states that he arrived in Kepple Bay, Rockhampton in 1863.  Does anyone know how I would find out the ship he arrived on & who was with him on the journey.

He was involved in Cumberland Gold Mine.  He had just one child, Catherine Ann O'Brien.  She married Arthur John Cobcroft.

I would be delighted to hear from any Cobcroft decendants!

Patrick O'Brien was born in 1844 in Kilbehenny, County Limerick.  He emmigrated to Australia in 1863 arriving in Kepple Bay.  He died in Leura, NSW.

His nieces Margaret & Kate (Catherine) O'Brien also travelled from Limerick I believe to join their uncle..

I am a decendant of Patricks' brother, Timothy O'Brien.

I would be delighted to hear from any of his descendants.

Hi Coldug,
the Mullins children were much younger I believe when they were takem to Australia..I have heard they were 11 years & younger.  They were taken back by one of he O'Brien sisters.

The uncle they travelled to Australia to join was an O'Brien.

Also,  I will check my family tree to see if there is a John O'Brien who left Kilbehenny, will let you kno.
