I am not a paying member of Ancestry so cant see those records.  I know they offer a free trial but they want my credit card details which I'm not too happy about.  I know that sounds as if I'm a phobic Luddite but if anyone is a member and wouldnt mind following Mort29's suggestion for me, it'd save me anxiety and earn you Karma.  ;)

rare to get full street addresses back then; the closest you may get to pinning it down is via the Enumerators route.

I fear that this Bell Lane and the dead pub is in Twickenham rather than Ealing.  Thank you though.

Try Bell Lane, Ealing it seems to have been there in 1871.

Got this by doing a Google search for Eight Bells Inn Brentford.

Would any kind soul be able to check the aforementioned document to let me know where the Eight Bells inn was in Ealing - it's apparently the Brentford registration district but I don't suppose that narrows it down as much as I would hope - certainly couldnt find an Eight Bells on Brentford High Street.
