Lanarkshire / Re: Kings of Motherwell
« on: Monday 17 January 11 14:00 GMT (UK)  »
Hello!
Am in Toronto....Marion King came to Canada with husband Daniel Baillie[another Motherwell family]....mid 1800s
In "Motherwell 70 Years Ago" there are several Kings....fundamentally two families I think.
The more prominent one involved bridge building, quarries etc. They had Alexander King who possibly went to New Zealand
They also had a Marion.
Our Marion....we think.......daughter of John King[stone #87] and Elizabeth Hamilton...also have guesses their parents.
Marion siblings in order....James,Alexander,William,John,Marion,Archibald....we think Marion born Dalzeil
So we have an Alexander and some Hamilton line!
We know nothing of Kings other than Marion.
Hope this is of interest.
email direct if interested.....(*)
Cheers       ...   Bryce Hunter,Toronto,Canada
