if you check out the above link you will see that there
are lots of malones and mcquilland in the parish of drumgoon co cavan in the 1850 and indeed there still are

Mee is not a common surname in Ireland but there is a family in cootehill co. cavan called mee

You almost got it right with drumgoo, cootehill
It is drumgoon, cootehill, see  www.drumgoon.com
There are still lots of Mc Nally, Mc Canns and Vogans in the parish. There are no Holmes around but that name is common enough in the midlands, eg laois. there are 2/3 vogans, 5/6 mc nalls and 7/8 mc cann families around. None of them have canadian relations that I know of but way back obviously had John and Jim are common first names in all 3 families and sometimes thses carry though. Please post a reply if you want more info.
