Hi
John Henderson L'Estrange is not on Queensland electoral rolls for 1903, 1922 or 1934. On his marriage record  1895 he has an extra name of William.
Might be worth looking at other states as it is strange he was only on 1 electoral roll.

Hello
The Queensland Railways Index does not show any L'estrange employees. The 1913 electoral roll shows John Henderson L'Estrange as a miner of Windsor Rd Red Hill which is a suburb of Brisbane. Not a lot of mining around there but Ipswich a near by city & the surrounding areas were very important mining areas. A huge amount of this area is today under water with massive floods. The death you mentioned shows Jack L'Estrange & the absence of details would be because the informant did not know any details about him - could be explained by his estrangement from his family & the hospital not having any real details on him.

Hi Bruce
I am interested in the McEwen info. I have John McEwen married Eliza Christian Gardiner 27 July 1832 They had a large family all born Muthill. 1851 census at Westertown, 1841 at Drumdowie (looks like) They went to Edinburgh later.  I would be interested in any thing you might locate. I have just begun looking at this family for a friend. Would appreciate any info
Best wishes Pauline (Australia)

Hi Freda
Very interested in your family. Your Thomas Sloan born 1867 was the son of Robert Sloan married Ellen Irwin. Robert Sloan was the son of Thomas Sloan married Margaret Irwin. This ties all the Australian connections together.
Thomas Sloan & Margaret Irwin Children Robert, Thomas, Esther & James. (your connection Rosie)
Robert Sloan & Ellen Irwin children  include Robert married Mary Ann Piercy ( your connection Bron)
My connection is the Irwins - Ellen Irwin was my grandmother's aunt. The Irwins, Sloans,  Burnsides , McNeills & Snipes/Knipes were all neighbours at Moyknock & they intermarried a lot!  Would love to hear more from you Freda.
