Yorkshire (North Riding) / Re: Bannisters and Ringrose

Thank you for the info from the 1851 census. I did not have this before. I haven't been able to find "Ann" except for the birth of George in 1809 and marriage to Wellburn Ringrose in 1810. I have info on "Wellburn". There are also some Ringrose children.Wellurn Ringrose Bannister, son of George Bannister and Mary Hill[grandson of Ann] married Milcah Lamb and this was my husband's great grand parents.  They were tailors in Rudston. I have a Wellburn Ringrose married to an Ann Bannister in 1810 in Driffield. Ann Bannister had a son, George born in 1809 and his children have as second names "Ringrose" or "Hill". He married a Mary Hill so this tells me that his father was Wellburn Ringrose. These children were born at Foxholes. Is anyone researching this family? I know that the Bannister family had a tailor shop in Rudston in the 1800's before they came to Canada. Would appreciate any help on where Ann came from and any info on the rest of the family. Karin

Know that they were born before 1830 and am really not sure if I have the name right. In a will parents are Robert and Mary ---dell and it looks like Lindell. Will is hand written. Mary[Drewry] was born in Haxey to John and Martha. Any help would be appreciated. K

Jenny, my line is Thomas from Haxey married to Christian Waterhouse in 1739. Son was John who married Martha Johnson in 1769 in Haxey. Surviving children mentioned in will were Mary and Robert[-???--dell]and children, Samuel, John, William and Joseph----Susannah and John Harris and children, Charlotte and Mary and John Drewry and wife Mary and issue. No mention was made of Martha who married Robert Andrews in Doncaster or of Thomas who was born in 1770. The "John" and Mary[Sayles] had three children in Haxey John, John and Robert and then Joseph Johnson and Martha in Doncaster. There is possibly another child but have to prove it. Robert born in Haxey in 1799 and died in Crowle in 1878 was my greatx2 grandfather. Katiebee

Lincolnshire / Drewry Kelsey

Thought this might help someone researching Kelsey family. A relative of mine kept a diary of a trip there in 1930 and they went to visit Drewry Kelsey, a cousin, in Castleton. He had a shop there. He had two sons, 13 and 8, and his sister's name was Annie. Have more info if anyone is interested. Katiebee

Could anyone tell me how I can find out if an ancestor from the 1700s and 1800s made a will?Area would be Haxey or Crowle.  If so how do I go about finding a copy? I am in Canada so can't go to a library or anything. Thanks in advance. Katybee
