United States of America / Re: how to search for US birth Certs??

Yes i believe Patrick Mcevoy and Margaret are my great great grandparents. I've traced Catherines wedding cert and it shows Patrick as father. It also shows address so i've found them online in the Dublin 1901 and 1911 census. I will now request a copy of Catherines birth cert from NY archives. By any chance have you searched the NY archives or gone back further in the family tree?

Hi,

Yes that looks like Alice is sister of John. I have baptism cert for John (1856) that my grandmother kept, from St Audoen's church, so i'm sure you'll find Alice's there.
I had attached link to census of Thomas from 1901 and he was living at that time in Jervis street with his sons. He died 2nd January 1902 and that address is on his grave at Glasnevin. He's buried with wife Catherine, who died 12 Dec 1882. Also buried with son Thomas (Alice brother), d 1941.
Catherine is originally from Bagenalstown Carlow and Thomas from Clonmel Tipperary. Thomas moved to Dublin during the famine.
So far i know Catherine and Thomas had sons, John, Thomas, Michael, daughter Catherine and now Alice. You have mentioned Mary as well.

Hi,

Below is the link to my o'brien family in 1901 census (ignore ages as they are incorrect).

http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Dublin/North_City/Jervis_Street/1332874/

My great grandfather john shows as married in 1901, however he didnt marry my grt grandmother until 1910. Perhaps your Alice is from his 1st marriage , or she's one of his sisters so that i need to find out.  I will private message you more details i have and maybe we can find the family connection. I'm also doing the family tree.
I'll also ask the family if they know of the names orfords or matthews. They had mentioned sisters Christina and Alice who was close to my grandmother and they thought they were maybe cousins. My grandmother Elizabeth (Lily),sadly is no longer around to ask.

Just one other thing, Alice (that i believe is my great grandfathers sister), married to Alfred also had children called Alice and Alfred. Thought i'd mention in case you are looking at a different generation.

Hi,

It's my great grandfathers sister that i was told married a corlett. She would have been O'brien, which is my grandmothers maiden name. Does that name mean anything to you?
