Thanks guys - any other thoughts on the year?

Didn't occur to me to check for D S Bell in the census :( I'll have a look now and cross-reference the street directories.

Thanks
Mark

Liff Road, Lochee is almost certainly in Dundee but I haven't been able to find a reference to David Bell in the trade directories.

If I had an idea of year it would be much easier!

Thanks in advance
Mark

Thanks. Unfortunately no backs, the compilation as it stands came from my cousin in the States. I've asked him to see if there is anything on the reverse.

Hi folks,

I'd be grateful for any help dating these photos which may (or may not!) be of my gggparents.  I'm unable to provide more details of the back as the photos were from a cousin in the US.

I believe all three photos were taken in Dundee, Scotland. From local street directories, I know that John Roger was active between 1880 and at least 1912. Alex Donald (second photo) from around 1867 - 1903.  The third photo I know nothing of.

As an aside, do people feel that the adults are the same two people? The woman I can just about see, but I'm struggling to convince myself that it's the same man...

Many thanks in advance
Mark

United States of America / Fermanagh Connellys moved to US ~1840?
« on: Friday 12 August 11 13:37 BST (UK)  »
Hi all,

I just found out from Poor Law Records that 3 of my ggg-grand uncles emigrated to the US.  I wondered if anyone might be able to link them in their trees?

John Connelly, b ~1820, Cooper
James Connelly, b ~1838, Blacksmith
Andrew Connelly, b ~1839, Cooper

All were born in Fermanagh, Ireland to Edward Connelly and Mary Clarke.

Any help welcomed.

Many thanks
Mark

Thanks KDDA,

I've no idea what he went back for - it's just a family legend. (Although I think it was a bit after Cromwell's time!).

I know that most of the family were Catholic, but I also know some married out, so I doubt they were especially religious.

Thanks for the link, it's interesting...

@Rathmore - thanks, I've dropped them a note.

@aghadowey - thanks for those links, I've checked them before but will have another go to see if I've missed anything obvious.

Thanks guys,
Mark
