Hi Alex,
Thanks for this. You mentioned DNA. Mine is on Ancestry and am descended from James Mawby and Ann Bishops son Thomas who married Louisa Armstrong.

Thanks Neil

I couldn't find anything at the records office. Both my dad and myself have been searching for years. Just completely stuck....

James married Ann Bishop and had Thomas 1855

Thomas married Louisa Armstrong and had Harold 1900

and yes I am a direct descendant

Hi,
I need some help.

I have come to a stand still and cannot move any further back with my tree...

...any help will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

Thomas Mawby b 1801
married to Ann b 1806
Children:
James & Sarah b 1826 (twins?)

I believe they would be in the Gilmorton or Peatling parva area, although prior to this the family are in St Margarets in Leicester
