oops! late again...

Yes, the possessions were of live inhabitants.

My great-aunt was a great researcher - I only wish I had got into this stuff before she died; with her brains and my internet wanderings we would have been a good team.

You sound like you're well and truly hooked - enjoy!

Hello! Still happy to do this - just checked an old email address, got a notification and have pm'd Ferreter.

I will change my address right away.  :)

I keep forgetting this site; must get my act together and come back with some questions.

Hi Polly

How lovely about the watch! I will dig out my Bramwell file and have a nose, then get back to you. (Got a new puppy to deal with so am not online so much at the mo).

I am fairly sure I have a lot more info since I first posted, and have come across several other researchers from this line.

I also went to the Bramwell jewellery shops in Durham this summer but the owner wasn't there to waffle to.

Thanks for your interest. x Jen

PS - Hello Kiwiham; I will be pm'ing you soon as well. Spotted your Brammer question too, v interesting.  x Jen

Hello Adam

Thanks for your hard work. Please could you list the Bramwells for me?

Best wishes, Jen

hiya.

I think for a pm you should click on the person's name but I hardly ever come on here so I'm not exactly sure.

Anyway, it's fine for you to post on this thread again if and when you would like more info - not that there are any more names mentioned!  BUt if they ARE yours maybe we could work something out to give you the whole inventory.

Good luck with your research - I have let mine get in a mess and need to do some serious filing!

Post on here any time but be aware I'm not on too much.

xx Jen

Hi Lyraea

No problem, I do pop in now and again.

There are inventories for Harry Symes, Esquire & his widow Ann Symes of Fram Cot - 19 Jan 1686/7

It's 2 & a half pages, with quite a few rooms so they were prolly reasonably off.

total  £81 12s 7d.

My favourite bit after scanning through is "One paire of Sad Coloured Curtains with a Counterpaine 15s" &
"Three little old Sadd Colored Chaires 4s 0d"

hope this helps, pm me if you like xx Jen

Hello Anna

Very kind of you.

Could you please tell me of any Bramwells listed?  Or should I specify?

(I am a rare visitor to this site!)

Thanks, Jen

Please post new requests on the Requests board - thank you!

Hello, thanks all of you for your help and interest.

Since I last came on here I have got some interesting snippets from Google (union history, including one of the links above), and from free access to the Times Archive.

I have no census access though so Oly, thanks very much indeed.

Another rootschat kind person found him in the 1871 mistranscribed as Richard, not Pickard.

thanks again, will be back soon when I have time to go through info. xxx

cheers all, Jen
