 Just a general thought It seems in Wexford any way that it was common for children to be reared
by Grandparents or other family members My Gfather was born in Little Bolton Lancs but was reared in Wexford I also know of several other cases Whether it was economic family problems or what ever  It was very common and a young widow woman might have felt it was best

Thomas had a seven month old son named Sylvester When he arrived in Australia
Sylvester was a Dempsey family name .Hes not mentioned in his Mothers death notice

Merlins O Dempseys look like they are right Father was Sylvester and Mother was Margaret
Murphy  Thomas was born16/04/1894  Patrick born 25/03/1896 Patrick (pat) left his wife in
Ireland But Thomas in both names I dont know maby it was a family thing

When Thomas emigrated his brother Pat had already been there for some years
andthey met accidently in a Barbers shop How true I dont know

Delighted to get this much information Thomas seems to have dissapeared and his son
 Sylvester Thomas had a brother in Australia Pat he left his wife in Ireland and I think she had no more contact with him Thomas was uppose to have met him working in a Barbers shop
So the story goes It is the right  Thomas as I can confirm Manilla Couvette Court Wilcox was his wife
Very distincitive

Hi looking to contact any decendants of Thomas O Dempsey his wifes name Wilcox
Arrived in Melbourne 1928 from Wexford .They had 3 children at this time (*) .He used O Dempsey but the family in Ireland just Dempsey

Just read through your posts and Aiden died 29th Oct !945 aged 35
As I said before it was a farming accident . He fell in to a threshing machine
I recall from my Aunt that she thought he was a very fine man

I have a memory card of Aiden O Brien i tried to attach but went funny
I remember from my aunt talking about him that he died in an accident
If you still intrested in family I will try to send it again .
and as I am from Rathnure area I might be able to find out more
