 Dear Cando,
My apologies, wrong choice of word.  As I wrote before, I was only having a look to see if I could find a bit about Adas parents. I have found more than I knew before but will now drop it. Thanks for your efforts.

Hi Cando,
Oh I have a headache trying to take in all of that!  Pub owners! Hmm On Adas marriage cert. William Gaylor is listed as Schoolmaster!
Also about the date of birth for William I am only guessing. If, as you have stated he died 22May 1876 aged 75 he would have been born sometime in 1801, yes?
Will spend some time looking at these links. Considering I was only having a looksee at Margaret and her husband William Gaylor. Her daughter Ada Gaylor was my maternal GGGrandmother and was trying to find a bit more about her life.
Many thanks,
           Lauren ;D

Hi Cando,        Ooops, Grey moment!! ::) I thought each entry was a seperate time zone!! That makes a big difference and yes it most probably is Williams death in 1876 aged 75 as he would have been born in 1801 so the age of 75 fits perfect. Margaret would  have been 50 at his death then  moved to Victoria in 1889 at age of 63. William is listed as a schoolmaster on his daughter Ada's wedding cert. 1883 in Vic. sooo I assumed he was there!!!! Ooops again! ::)
Her son-in-law Joseph Allen, Adas husband is the informant on Margarets death cert. Have sorted out a few knots and am doing a time line for her.  A hard life by the looks of it.
Many thanks Lauren :)

Many thanks Cando for the extra info. I know I have had some from here before and that was how I got onto Margarets death cert. and it had the place, White Hills, where they were married. The extra info I have now received helps even more. Also I don't think it can be Williams death unless he moved back to Tassie. Margaret died in Victoria aged 78. Haven't had a look for William yet. Can only do a bit at a time. Would love to be able to follow them all properly but can't.
Many thanks for the look up Regards Lauren :) :)

Hello,      I am hoping some kind person can do a look up in Tasmania for me.
I am after a marriage certificate for William and Margaret Gaylor.
According to her death certificate they were married in White Hills near Launceston age unknown.    Her Victorian DCert states she died 3 May 1904 aged 78........but also says she was born in Nth Ireland where she spent 30yrs, 15 yrs in Tasmania and 15 yrs in Victoria which adds up to 60????. She had three daughters who are listed on the 1904 DCert as being aged
Ellen 54, Ada 43 and Eva 38. Ada was supposed to have been born in Tas. in 1860 but have not been able to get a birth certificate for that from TBDM. Maiden name for Margaret is listed as unknown but it is supposed to be Gee or maybe Morris. She was also supposed to have been married before which may account for the large gaps between the children.
I hope this enough info and that the dates are not too vague. Proving to be a hard person to trace.                   Thanks  Lauren

Dear Debra,
Many thanks for the search links and I have had a good look through the site. Have come across some info on Ada and William Gaylor. I dont think somehow that the deaths on ship happened. There is a death date for William Charles Gaylor later than 1860 when Ada was born so couldn't have died on board. The only place of birth on the marriage certificate is for 1860 Launceston. She was married in Victoria and died in Adelaide Sth Aust in 1945 aged 85.   Many thanks for your efforts but I dont think I can follow her back any further. At least from her marriage in Victoria we have most of her history and family.
It was worth a try. Much appreciated.                                  Regards Lauren

Hi Debra,
Yes she did move to Victoria as I have a copy of her marriage cert. that states she married Joseph Allen on 24th Feb 1883. The Parents are listed as William Gaylor and Margaret Gaylor nee Gee. I tried to buy a birth cert. from Tas BDM but they said the couldn't find one for Ada Gaylor born 1860 Launceston. Apart for what I have been told, through family members of hers from what they understand was her history. I was looking to see if this was provable, the fact that she was born on ship and the parents died and maybe the name of the ship.  No date for her birth has been entered on her marriage cert. or the death cert. of her son or her death cert. from Adelaide. Maybe its something that has been blurred in time. Maybe the Gaylors were her Aunt and Uncle who raised her. ???

Hello Rootschatters,
I am wondering if you can help me find where to look for info on deaths aboard ships heading to Tasmania.  I have a GGGrandmother that I am trying to find some info on and have been given some family history that she, Ada Gaylor, was born on the ship bound for Tas in 1860 and that her parents both died on the voyage out. Raised by an Aunt in Launceston and took over land from her parents when she came of age. The mother was married 3 times and there is listed a maiden name of Margaret Gee or Morris.
Is there a way of finding out the name of the ship through the deaths? Or a place where the deaths are registered.  Hoping you can help me.
Looking forward to hearing from you.        Regards Lauren
