Salvatore,

Just checked out the link you supplied.  It shows a Jane and a Mary Jane as children of Daniel.

You mentioned in your last post that Jane became Mary Jane, so presumably your evidence suggests that they were in fact the same person?

Hi Salvatore

Welcome to RootsChat.

Peony and I share ancestors.  It looks like your Daniel's father, also Daniel, was the younger brother of our ancestor Soloman Ridgley.  Their father was Daniel (again) b in 1771 and that's where we join up as it were.

If you haven't found it already, you will undoubtedly find this site rich with Ridgleys

Happy hunting

Oops, think that should have been b1796.

His father George was born around the same time as Daniel (b1771) in the same town

William and his brother Absolom (b1797) both had Thomas Ayres witness their marriages, as did Joshua (b1798) who was John and Solomon's younger brother.

I'm hoping this supports the two sides of the family joining - unless of course Thomas was just an important man in the town and a serial wedding witnessser  ;)

Thanks Jack,

already checked out the rootsweb link ... some good info, but also a few errors I've found.

My ancestor is Solomon, so I guess we are related :)

Do you have your ancestor John's death date?
Also, do you have much on John and Solomon's brothers and sisters, other than what is on the rootsweb site?  For example, what happened to Elizabeth?

I have a William Ridgley too, b1793 in Saunderton, married Elizabeth Hawks 16th Dec 1819 - do you know where he connects into the Ridgley line?

Thanks

Hi Peony,

This was my first post, so don't seem to be able to reply to your PM.  I suspect we are closely related though ... your grandmother was my aunt.

Hi Cannie Lad and Peonynon,

I too have Daniel Ridgley, b1771, as my g.g.g.g.grandfather, with Soloman as my ancestor and his son Daniel. b. 30 March 1824, then William, b.1850 and William Alfred, b. 1869.

Since these posts, have you manage to get any further on the Ridgley line?

Also, do you have anything on Elizabeth Pearce's parents or on Joyce Lacey, Daniel's wife - are her parents Richard and Joyce?

Regards
D
