My grandmother Jemima Boyd Hume worked as a Printfield Worker,(Factory worker who dyed and printed calico cloth) in Inverness at the age of abt 15 abt1901.
Don't know if it was at Holm Mills at this stage.

Good luck, with your  free trial Jackaroo.
I've been with Au and UK now for 8 months and found 9000 direct and non direct people for my family.

I have found and linked up with 1st 2nd 3rd + cousin's who I had know idea of when I started out 8 months ago.

My new found Cousin's are amazed when they see how we come to be related and enjoy adding to there family research.

Some of the Cousin's have been doing there Ancestry for 8 or more years and again are amazed at the betailed records that come with my research in such a short time.

When  they ask how I did it, I tell them I pay a monthly sub's  Au $10 - $12 to ancestry.com

Jackaroo, I would go for the Au$10-$12 monthly Sub's with ancestry.com.

Your family tree should burst into life.
Good luck

Occupation Interests / Re: Shipwright Liverpool

Hi a little info,
Shipbuilding is the construction of ships. It normally takes place in a specialized facility known as a shipyard. Shipbuilders, also called shipwrights, follow a specialized occupation that traces its roots to before recorded history.

thanks to an excellent professional researcher at the National Archives we do have a copy of his Master Mariners Certificate and his entries in The Lloyd's Captain's Register from 1883 - 1909.

It would be a treat to be able to get a copy of my David Vivian's Master Mariners Certificate.
I know of the  Lloyd's Captain's Register  but I have found it comersome to use.
Any one now how to use the Lloyd's Captain's Register ?
