Thanks everyone for all your help. I'm very satisfied with all the answers and will need to get a copy of Charlotte's birth to see who her father really was.

Thanks again

Thanks. I'm very certain that his wife was Sophia Reed, but I'm still trying to find out who Charlotte's father was. I think my confusion may be in his first name. Silas seems to be correct and although William may have been a first or second name, the death record for  Silas and not William seems to be the right one. Therefore Charlotte would have been born after Silas died.

Thanks for your help and I believe both questions have been answered. Another family tree has freebmd records for all the children with Reed as their mothers maiden name. And the London England Deaths and Burials shows William died on December 27, 1862 after Charlotte was born.

London and Middlesex / Hughes family in Marylebone

I am looking for information on the family of William (Silas) Hughes born in 1819 in Marylebone. His wife was Sophia born 1819. Some family trees have her maiden name as Reed and some have it as Pulsford. Their children were all born in Marylebone. They were James born in 1842, (my great grandfather), Emma born in 1844, John and William born in 1846, Thomas born in 1848 and maybe Charlotte Sophia  born in 1862 which would be 2 years after William Silas died.
I would like to know what Sophia's correct maiden name was and who Charlotte's father really was. Perhaps his death date of 1860 or her birth date of 1862 aren't correct.

Thanks for any help.

Thank you for your research into Catherine's burial. I believe you are right and that no records exist but I appreciate this very much!

I think you are correct that she was dead at the time of the 1841 census. I was hoping that there might be burial records for her. I have been unable to find any.
The tombstone was erected by Andrew Smith C.W. (Canada West) my 2nd great grandfather who came to Canada in 1832. She probably died sometime after he left Scotland.

Sorry his marriage date should be December 6, 1808 at Ardersier

I am hoping someone can find a burial record for Catherine Rose who married Alexander Smith on October 8, 1854 at Ardersier Inverness-shire. Alexander was born in 1767 and died on October 8, 1854 and is buried in Dunlitchity Churchyard Cemetery. Her name is on the tombstone but no birth or death dates suggesting she may not be buried there.
I did think that her parents were William Rose and Elizabeth Shaw, but it's likely that was a different Catherine who married Farquhar Smith so I am still looking for her parents as well.
Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the help from all of you who took the time and effort to look for Williams parents for me. I think the most likely answer is Richard Hill who died on Jan. 28, 1831 buried in Manaccan and his mother Elizabeth who was buried on Dec. 3, 1826 in Manaccan. The question of Elizabeth's maiden name remains a mystery to me but I don't now think it was Tellam.

Your research has been a huge help for me.
Thanks to Neale1961, amondg, osprey and others who looked into this for me!
