Lancashire Completed Lookup Requests / Rochdale area look-up

Would be most grateful if someone could look up the workhouse records for an Eleanor Marian Thornton from 1897 onwards (she died in 1941) in Wardle also in the Gores directory from same period onward. I have three addresses
which are Birch Hill House Wardle, 10 Elm St Littleborough, and also Minfford Milnrow Road Smithy Bridge Littleborough
I believe she may be my Great Grandmother who went missing from Liverpool around 1897 leaving my grandfather in the cottage homes in Fazakerly. Also mentioned on the death cert is an Ivan Edward Whitehouse who dealt with the burial. I have been researching the Thorntons family history for four years now  but Eleanor is a bit of a mystery, any help would be gratefully received :)

Hi Viv
I do think Matilda was the maid and also I have a copy of the marriage cert .  Have looked up Eleanors death on BMD and Familysearch but have drawn a blank. Would Eleanor have been able to revert to her maiden name as I have found a marriage on Lancashire BMD in 1897 about the time my granddad was taken to the home the name Eleanor M Smith to  William G Toll in Liverpool let me know what you think and if  there are any other avenues to explore
Regards
Sylvia
