Title: 1851/1861 census Daventry
Post by: waterfall on Sunday 23 October 05 17:32 BST (UK)
 1851 for William Coles

Not a lot of info other than the following.

William Coles, bac, full age, butcher of Daventry, married Jane Sarah Lines (widow) full age,(nee Holloway) 6/7/1853 at Studham.

William gave his father as Thomas Cole, farmer.

Also would like any info for William/Jane (bn Herts c 1831) in 1861.......might be a William Lines, son of Jane aged abt 10 bn Herts.

Thanks for any help on these, Waterfall

Right, 45 minutes later and this family is sorted. Bit of a pain if you don't mind me saying so. Not their fault at all but people who will remain forever namelss ;)

1861 census

This image is a real mess but gleaned enough from it to identify them

26 Hales Street Poplar, London

William Cole 1828 birthplace illegible apart from word Heyford, Head,Labourer
Jane Cole 1834  birth place illegible Wife
William Lines 1851  Gaddesden Row Son-in-law

Son in Law was often used for step son
Needless to say William was not indexed as Lines but Sener - beat that if you can!  Quite clear on image, though.

This is the closest match on 1851 for William.  Suggest you try for 1841 now you have age and birth place

1851 census

Howard Capell born 1813 Bugbrook, Northamptonshire, Farmer of 53 acres with 3 labourers
