Hello.
I am trying to trace William Hossell and family through the various Census's.
I have found him in 1861 but would like to find him in 1841, 1851 and 1871 if possible.
William was born in Knottingley about 1815. He married about 1839 to a lady whose christian name was Elizabethand who was also born in Knottingley about 1817.
In the 1861 Census he was Master aboard the vessel "Friends". With him was his wife, four children and two crew members. From the Census return I am not sure where this vessel was but would guess it was on one of the Yorkshire rivers, possibly the Aire.
William's children included :- Maria (1840), Elizabeth (1841, died bef. 1845), George (1842, died 1848), Elizabeth (1845), William (1846, died 1847), Mary Ann (1848, Mar. 1869), John (1849), William (1849, died 1857), George (1851), Joe (1853) and Thomas (1856). All these children were born Knottingley
Any help would be very appreciated.
Thank you.

Hello again,
William Hossell did indeed marry Elizabeth Broadhead on 11th March 1839 at St Giles in Knottingley. These are my wife's 3rd great grandparents. She was baptised 10th November 1817 in Knottingley.
