Hoping that someone can find these people for me in 1841 and/or 1851, depending on what is available.
Benjamin HOWELL, born abt 1822, Pembroke, S Wales
wife Harriet, born abt 1823, Backwell, Somerset
In 1861, Benjamin was a shipwright living at 5 King St, Bedminster, Somerset.
Daughter Julia born Bristol abt 1842.
Son Edwin born Bristol abt 1845.

Two possibles on 1841:
Benj Howells (sic), blacksmith, age 20, living in GReen Hill, Swansea, Glamorgan; born Glamorgan.
He is living with Lavin (bargeman) Matthew, 25, and Margaret Matthew, 20.
Probably not yet married to Harriett.

Hello Loo,
I'm probably getting my Benjamins mixed up - not sure if a blacksmith would become a ships carpenter, completely different trades, however interesting to see Swansea- it keeps popping up. I think I have picked up the wrong age from a web site - I better have that entry checked.
I have the 1851 entry for the second Ben. This matches the 1841 entry you gave me - except birthplace. Does this 1841 give birthplaces? I have seen it on some of mine when they were born out of the county, but not street address! I love thorough enumerators.
1851
HOWELL Benjamin 49 Shipwright Pembrokeshire
Harriet 48 Shoe Binder Backwell
Alfred 15 Apprentice Shipwright Bedminster
Emily Sophia 12 Scholar Bedminster
Julie Ann 9 Scholar Bedminster
Edwin 6 Scholar Bedminster

Your post has also given me the info I need to tie in another Benjamin and a Joseph to this family unit - more shipwrights that I am tracking.
Many thanks

No, it doesn't specify where born, except whether it's in the same county as whether they are living, or not.
I have adjusted what I wrote above to reflect this better. Please read it again.

Many thanks Loo for making it right,

Is anyone tracing this Howell line? I am interested in finding info on my mothers cousins who are related down one of Edwins Howell(1846) line? Thank you.
