Hi,
On the 1881 Census Alfred Clarke and family are shown living at 56 Lexden Street, Lexden.
I am trying to identify where this house was and if it is still there. Unfortunately, Lexden Street is now Lexden Road and I think it has been renumbered at some point.
Any information most appreciated.
Thanks
Tony

Essex Pubs http://essexpub.net/indexIan.htm
has listings for pubs in both Lexden Street and Lexden Road:
http://essexpub.net/Lexden/lexden.htm
Perhaps you can work from these to find your address?
In 1891 the Sun Inn appears to be No 5, Lexden Street
And The Crown is about No 42 Lexden Street

Thanks for the excellent suggestion!

If the Crown is No.42, then I'll guess that 56 has been demolished.
I will try to find a photo of roughly where it would have been.
