From FreeBMD http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl:

Benjamin Brock m. Emma Bracebridge, Sep Q 1867, Lambeth reg. district (ref. 1d 692)

If you get a copy of the marriage cert, it will give you Benjamin's father's name and occupation - then we can look for him on censuses, etc.

What do you know about Benjamin Brock, and how accurate is the information that you hold ?

Certainly, there isn't a Benjamin Brock in the Oxfordshire Baptism Index (http://searches.oxfordshirefhs.org.uk/) but that is an incomplete index. Lower Heyford is in the index, but Upper Heyford isn't in there as yet.

Transcriptions of the parish registers for both Lower Heyford and Upper Heyford are available on microfiche (http://www.ofhs.org.uk/mfiche.html), and can also be consulted at the Centre for Oxfordshire Studies and the Oxfordshire Record Office.

Whilst your Benjamin Brock isn't in the Oxfordshire Baptism Index, there are loads of other Brocks listed in Lower Heyford.

Hi
I know your post is an old one so not sure if you've resolved your query or not however I have the OFHS CDs with the transcripts for Upper Heyford and found the following:

Upper Heyford Baptisms
1821 Jun 24 Bagot [sic] Benjamin s Benjamin & Sarah BROCK lab Lower Heyford.

In the transcript BROCK is underlined because of the discrepancy between this name and the surname entered in the first column for the child.  There is no indication in the baptism that Benjamin is illegitimate.

In 1823 a Sarah Brock marries Thomas Bateman of Lower Heyford on Oct 25.  There is no marriage of her to a Benjamin Bagot, of course this marriage could be for a different Sarah.

Do you think this could be your Benjamin?

Regards
Steph

Benjamin Baggott(c1826), appears in the 1841 census, with Thomas & Sarah Bateman in Upper Heyford.

There also appears to be  Benjamin Baggott c1826, from Lower Heyford.
