Hi. Could some please look up the birth of Thomas Mobley B abt 1815 Kings Sutton.
Could only find a marriage for him on the IGI in 1838 (parents not there)
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Sue,
I noticed your two posts for Thomas Mobley and Ann Mainhood.
I searched IGI and found their marriage 1836 Adderbury Oxford, but no parents shown.
I also found the christening (birth not shown but could be anytime prior to this) of a Thomas Mobley 12 Sep 1819 Bloxham Oxford with parents Joseph and Hannah Mobley. There is another christening shown for these two parents, that of Eliza 11 Feb 1827.
You may already have this, just thought I'd try to help.

Thanks for trying but that is not my Thomas Mobley he was born Kings Sutton got married in Oxford to Ann then moved back to Kings Sutton where all their childred were born the first being a year after they got married.

dont dismiss this one straight away adderbury is very close to Kings Sutton I know cos I live in Bloxham also next door
I am at home next week no work yipee|| if noone has found birth message me monday cos memorys going and I will have a look in Banbury at the Local study see if I can find them

Thanks for the info it gets very confusing when one says one thing and it turns out different.
While you are there can you sort out another mess for me.
I have George Wyatt married to Ann Blencowe in Kings Sutton Feb 1827
My problem is the 1851 census says Ann is from Greens Norton but her marriage says she was from Hanwell Oxford.
Could you look up her Birth as well she was born abt 1806.
Will pm you Monday morning (Australia time) it will be there when you wake up.

With bryon's information there are a couple of Mobley's marrying in Kings Sutton (not yours I am afraid) and one comes from Bloxham, Oxfordshire?
Might be a good idea to look over the border for this family line.

Thanks for your input. This family is getting more and more confusing as time goes by. Byron kindly found Thomas Mobley in 1851 census born Kings Sutton wife Ann born Adderbury Oxford. I do know they got married in Oxford but had their first child in Kings Sutton two years after marriage.
Sandy can I ask you a favour and look up 1841 census and see if he was born this county (if they are there) They got maried 1836 and Elizabeth was born 1838, William b abt 1839 Joseph b abt 1838.
I know it is a big jump from 1851 to 1881 but both say Thomas was Born Kings Sutton.
Apart from this I do not know where to go.

Maybe you could put the noted "place of residence" from the certificate in case she was a servant there and only had to have the banns read in the village and was born in Greens Norton.

Thank you for the 1841 census and finding Thomas's father as well.
It seems my family likes the girls in Oxford better as I have a few families from Kings Sutton with Oxford wives.
As for Ann she is a mystery. She is with George in 1851 but not with him 1841. The only thing I can think of, if she did come from Oxford she might have gone home in 1841 for some reason.
Might have to try a census there see if I can track her down.

sorry didnt find anything at Banbury.
Did notice that Ann does give Green Norton on 1851 and 1861 census.
did find 2 deaths that might be them
Ann Wyatt 1879 age 74 Brackley Northants Vol 3b page 1
George Wyatt 1880 age 75 Brackley Northants Vol 3b page 2.
might be worth trying Northamptonshire Family History Society for a lookup

Just looked back at original post about 1851 census and that said Ann was from Adderbury as well, not Greens Norton so not quite sure where Greens Norton comes into things ???
Had a good look through Greens Norton just in case but didn't spot any Blencowes there at all :(
