Hi,
Can someone please lookup the following in 1841 for Spitalfields.
Edmond Sale (age unknown) presumably born in Spitalfields, wife was born in 1808 so i would imagine him to have been born about the same time.
The family's residence in 1851 was Mills Court, Spitalfields.
I don't know who Edmond's parents were but his children were James, Elizabeth and Susan so presumably as with the rest of the family these are family names.

Hello
I'm doing a bit of housekeeping and noticed this older request. Wondering if you are still looking for anything on this topic or you have resolved it in the meantime? If you're still looking, this might be a tough one to find so do you have any further info to add that might assist finding them?
If we don't hear from you in a while, I'll assume the latter and move it to the 'completed' section.
Regards

Yes, i am still looking for this census information. I do not know any more information other than his name was either Edmond or Edmund Sale and i don't think he was married by 1841.

Hi Amy,
There is one Edmond Sale listed in the London 1841 census, he is 10 years old, living in Whitechapel.
Cissellby.

The IGI gives only one possible Edmund SALE for this time period:
Edmund SALE christened 5 Oct 1804
parents Thomas and Mary
at Holy Trinity, Stratford on Avon, Warwickshire
As the 1841 census says that Edmund was born out of county and aged 35 this might be worth investigating.

Thankyou all for your replies. I find the census result most interesting as his wife Sarah was widowed by 1851 and her occupation was a shoe binder, i had never heard of the children Edmund, Mary and Isabella before but i did know of three younger children, James, Elizabeth and Susan. I was also told the family were Hugenoughts which might explain why Edmund senior was not born in the county.
I will also have a look into the IGI and see what that turns up from bearkat's result.

In reply again to bearkat's IGI result. I had a look to find other children of Thomas and Mary and they had twin boys born before Edmund. Edmund and his wife Sarah had twins and there have been twins in the Sale side almost every generation since.

Hi All,
This thread is quite old but I found it via google. The Edmund Sale AmyUK speaks of is my G-G-G-G-grandfather. The Sale name in my tree carries down to my nan, who was born in 1927. I found the mention of a Huguenot link with the Sales interesting. I am descended through Edmund's grandson, a James Sale born around 1868, who married a Maria Hensher. Maria was of direct Huguenot descent.
Regards,
Brad.
