Title: Middlesbrough burial - Linthorpe 1940 -1955
Post by: frankboustead on Friday 14 October 05 00:36 BST (UK)
My grandmother Mary Ann BOUSTEAD nee Calvert is believed buried in one of the Middlesbrough cemeteries. Born May 1889 in Stockton, I do not have a date of death but it has to be somewhere between 1940-55.
My grandfather Thomas BOUSTEAD died in 1956 and may well have been interred in the same grave.
For both ancestors I do not have a date of death.
Anyone got any ideas for next step in search or have something they can look up>

Contact Cleveland Archives office in Middlesbrough and ask them for contact addresses for the cemeteries.  Don't forget Acklam cemetery.  I have wandered around them both in the past and the staff are very helpful. I think there is a link at the the top of the Yorkshire board to Tees BMDs wich are searchable online.  There is also FreeBMD and ancestry.co.uk but they are not full coverage.  www.1837online.com and familyrelatives are full coverage of deaths but you have to pay.
I would have thought that trying to find the deaths and possibly get the certificates was the next step.  You know their rough dates so should be able to find the right ones.  Actually writing to Middlesbrough Regiater office might help too as they will make a short search for you.  Wills?   Another possibilty.

I have looked on the website for Middlesbrough cemeteries, it also list's for Stockton, Thornaby and Billingham and there is nothing listed for those names you mentioned.
Are you sure they were buried as they was a Crem at Darlington.  Maybe you could check those records.
Good luck
