Am looking for the DAY family in the 1841 Census-
WILLIAM DAY aged about 40 Pattern maker
SARAH DAY aged about 30
WILLIAM DAY aged about 8
His Father Joseph Day was living with them in 1851. He to is a Pattern Maker. In 1841 he would be about 60-70. Not sure of any more siblings to William jnr as there was a 10 year gap in the 1851 Census.
Any help would be appreciated
Thankyou
Jane

Hi Jane
I have been trying to find a match to the Day family but no great success. There are 20 William Day aged 7-9 listed in the 1841 census but only 2 are also living with a William age about 40 but neither of them tie up with a Sarah. Better luck (perhaps) with Joseph - details as follows:
HO 107/709/9 sched 45
Tower Hamlets, Shoreditch
Whitfield Street
Joseph Day age 70 Toolmaker
James Day age 35 Engineer
Elizabeth Day age 41 Bookfolder
only James & Elizabeth were born in the county.
There were only 2 Joseph Day listed (aged 60-70), the other was, I think, a Chelsea pensioner.
I will give you the info on the 2 William/William matches:
HO 107/723/13 sched 15
St Thomas the Apostle
Taylors Court
William Day age 40 Labourer
Mary Day age 40
William Day age 8
Thomas day age 6
George Day age 11 mths
The children were born in the county.
HO 107/323/19 sched 31
Walthamstow
Orms Row
William Day age 35 Ag Lab
Elizabeth Day age 35
William Day age 7
John Day age 5
Elizabeth Day age 3
Henry Day age 1
parents and children all born in the county.
Regards
Mike

Hello
I'm doing a bit of housekeeping and noticed this older request. Wondering if you are still looking for anything on this topic or you have resolved it in the meantime? If you're still looking, this might be a tough one to find so do you have any further info to add that might assist finding them?
If we don't hear from you in a while, I'll assume the latter and move it to the 'completed' section.
Regards
Biker
