Hi
Its going to be a tricky one!!!

I have found a Triton William Coulling born in Romford Sept Qtr 1838 ref volume 12 page 191.
Any chance he was born outside of Cornwall??
I know with my lot they couldn't quite decide where they were born from one census to another

If this is him he is probably the son of
Sarah 35 wife of a Fisherman (would explain where Triton came from) 1841 Barking

Just a thought????

Hi
I have had a good old root around but can not find the marriage of Triton to Mary  Pearce.

My theory is (& I am probably way off here) that  Tritons parents were Triton and Sarah.  Triton snr born 1803  and Sarah C1806.
In 1881 Triton snr was living in Grimsby not with the family and still fishing but can not find Sarah so she had probably died by then.

In 1841 Sarah was living in Barking aged 35 with daughter Sarah 11, Sons David 9 and Triton 3. Triton snr was probably at sea. Maybe it is your Triton and they lived in Cornwall when he was young or maybe as I say I am way off here!!

Can't think of where to go now but maybe the 1851/1861 census will help, I don't have access to them

Sorry

There is a Triton Coulling on the 1861 for Sepney. Parents are David and Mary.  Would have to be related somewhere along the line don't you think?
He is only 7 so perhaps could be a nephew to your Trition.  Let me know if you don't have these details.

kind regards
Tyr's wife

Hi Barb

Sorry I either din't receive your posting or missed it!!

I don't have access to birth certificates you would have to get them from the parish I guess.
But I found the follow

Coulling  Triton William    Romford  12 191   Birth Sept Q 1838

-Marriage Dec 1859 to Mary Ann Chapman
Coulling  Triton William     Hull  9d 417

As you have the certificate for Triton and Mary Ann Pearce marrige there must be two Triton Coullings!! How odd!!
